Liam was born in Italy to an Italian father and an Australian mother, in a family whose story moves between continents. His grandparents migrated to Australia, but his mother returned to Italy where Liam was raised. Stories of Australia – its people, it’s Italian community, it’s warmth – became part of his childhood. When he arrived in Australia as a young adult, Australia felt like an extension of home, a place where the threads of history met the new life he was embarking on.
Changing countries and cultures taught Liam what it means to start from scratch, to need to develop new connections, and to discover how powerful it can be when someone offers support or simply makes you feel welcome. Those early experiences shaped the way Liam relates to people: with openness, curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for the small gestures that make someone feel that they belong.
Over the years Liam has worked in a variety of restaurants developing a deep respect for food, the discipline of the kitchen, and the quiet creativity that comes with cooking with intention. Liam now runs OM Taste, a creative business that provides Italian cooking and language lessons and broader activities based on sharing Italian food, culture and heritage.
Liam’s heritage, kitchen experience, love for nature and wildlife, passion for culture and food, and the experiences that shaped him living between two continents and cultures, all contribute to his natural connection with people.
